Revealing 3 Secrets About My Blog

There are a lot of things on this blog that I take for granted. As the pen behind the pages, I know the ins and outs of this blog. I've seen it go from inception to infancy and to whatever it is now. Saying that, I thought I'd share some little known facts about Social Spying, the blog, with you today.

Today also happens to be the third anniversary of when I posted the very first post, Having A Down Day, on this blog. I couldn't let this moment pass without firstly writing a blog post and then secondly thanking you all. I know I haven't been as consistent as I would like to be but despite that, you keep coming back and supporting my words. It really does mean the world to me. Thank you.

With that, here are three secrets about this blog:
#1 Every name is fake (including mine)
I enjoy talking about people in my life on my blog. I use this blog as my personal diary, except occasionally there are more than one set of eyes on it. Julia, Jack, William, Julian and Brandon amongst many more other names are all fake- and mine included (to a degree). But, I've discussed my  semi-pseudonym before here. I've always known that this blog won't always be  our little secret only and one day I'll share it with the world and although I think every year that moment is edging closer and closer, I'm definitely not there yet. But, when it does happen I don't want people to know who I'm taking about.

#2 Which posts I re-read/never read
I've published over 140 blog posts. Some remain on the blog whist others are hidden behind 'drafts'. There are some that I'm so proud of and others less so. Some blog posts I find myself re-reading every so often and some posts I write and never read again. This may not come as a surprise but the posts I re-read most are the one's of personal anecdotes from my life that I like to replay. Some favourites include: More Than Just An Old Faded PhotographMy 'Christmas Ship' Finding My Tinder Soulmate  and My First Kiss on Valentine's Day at 19-Years-Old
#3 My favourite types of comments
I've been very lucky to have received a few hundred comments over maytime on the blog. I am grateful for each time someone took the time to leave me their thoughts. Truly, very single comment means so much to me. Out of the few hundred I have received my favourite comments to get say something along the lines of firstly, complementing my honesty in posts. That's always been a value that I have continuously strived to maintain. This is your safe space- and mine too. I also like to hear that people like my writing style or that my writing style is easy to read. That means a lot.

What is your most memorable interaction with me or with my blog? Was it a particular thing I said on Twitter or maybe a blog post you read that touched your soul?

As I've been saying since day one and over the last three years,
Till next time-
Steph
