Spying on Steph in May

Enjoying

I'm loving L'Oreal's Xtreme Resist gloss, in the shade 507. The gloss is long lasting and gives me lips that extra shimmer. The application stick is anthropometrically designed and fits the curvature of the lip perfectly. The only downside to this product is the taste of it on your lips. It's not very pleasant.

Buying

Winter's rolling round- which becomes a theme in this post- which also means that I'm in need of some winter clothes. I'll also be moving to the Northern Hemisphere soon, which means I'll be experiencing two winters this year- albeit the one much colder than the other. In preparation, I'm stocking up on the winter clothes.

Posting

My blog post '60 Blogs to Follow' (see here) was met with such open and inviting arms, however, this month's top post goes to a very recent one where I announced something very exciting I'M MOVING!!! Later this year, I'll uproot from South Africa and move to London. To find out what, where, how and when or any other question that you may have, read the post. I'm very excited about this new start.

Growing

I never do anything alone. I wasn't even in the womb alone... but that's a whole other story that you can read about here. This month, I went to a party where I knew one person- the birthday boy. Also, I'm 18... everyone at this part was at least 24- which was too much for me, on top of being alone.

I ended up having a lovely time and being glad I went. Strangers turned to acquaintances who turned to friends. That afternoon put me to the test- It tested my confidence and my anxiety, but ultimately, I think I grew as a person.

Drinking

The days have been getting colder and colder, in South Africa, which has meant that I have consumed more and more tea to get those insides of mine warmed up; That's one aspect of winter that I actually like- tea! It's 8 AM and I'm already onto my second cup.

Wanting

As I said above, winter is upon us...or me, anyways. The days have gotten shorter, and the nights longer. I sleep with extra blankets, two layers of pyjamas and my kitsch leopard-patterned onesie. Warmer days would definitely be more welcomed!

Watching

After about 6 months of binge-watching the ups and down's of Meredith Grey's life, from the beginning, I have finally reached the end. It's the second series that I've watched fully. But, let's be honest, McDreamy and McSteamy made it a whole lot easier to watch, on top of all the antics of the interns, attendings and residents of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

Deciding

I've been churning 'dem cogs in that powerhouse of mine this month. You may have visited my blog several times this month, and each time looked different from before. I've been thinking about the direction of my blog and when I should post. As well as what content is being enjoyed and how I can improve my layout and overall brand. I don't think I've mastered any aspect of the blogosphere...but I'm working on it.

Regretting

I really wanted to work on my overall fitness this month. I'm not overweight and there's no cause for concern, but I love being active. Unfortunately, I wasn't as active this month as I would have liked. The motivation to get up to run wasn't there. I guess you could say I'm running...out of motivation.

I did one HIIT workout- which I loved- but the very unfit Steph couldn't take more. I think my abs (or lack thereof) still hurt from an attempted workout 4 days ago. So, that tells you a lot about the state of my body, currently.

Experiencing

I've lived in South Africa for 18 years- that's all my life. Up until the start of May, I'd never been to Cape Town. I hopped on a plane and jetted off to my friend for the weekend, earlier this month. I had such a good time! The people, the place and the overall party were my May highlight! If you ever visit South Africa, Cape Town is a must!

Appreciating

After the events in Manchester this month, as well as the more recent attack in Egypt, I'm so appreciative of my life, my health and the safety of those who are near and dear to me. Obviously, I have bad days, but it takes acts of terror to really put these seemingly 'bad days' into perspective.

What have you really enjoyed/appreciated/hated/experienced or wanted etc. this month?

Till next time-
Steph

  1. Omg I watched Greys Anatomy from the beginning a year or so ago and I loved it! It was so much better in the beginning!! I've been enjoying just having freedom to do what I please as I finished my last year at university a couple of months ago. Ive been able to read more which has been amazing.

    1. There were seasons that were better than others, but I don't mind the direction that it's going in. I'm liking the narrative now. I thought they handled the leaving of Patrick Dempsey very well.

Congrats! It must be so satisfying to have a degree under your belt; Now you can do all the things you want to do!

  3. Cape Town looks like a dream! I'd love to visit there sometime. <3
This is a really good concept for a blog post, I enjoyed going through these things. As for the 'regretting' part, my advice is don't be too hard on yourself. There's always room to start over and try harder the next day! Changes take time.

I'm sooo in love with your blog. I'd love if we can follow each other on Bloglovin maybe? Let me know! x
    Have a great week.

  4. I agree, our bad days look so small in relation to what's happening in the world, it is so sad. I watched Grey's Anatomy too and it is one of my favourite shows! x

    1. It's incredibly gruesome and unfortunate when one looks at what others do in the world.

Thank you for the comment! I appreciate it so much more than you'll ever know.

I used to watch greys but I grew so tired of it, like it was too much drama for me haha. It was super fun to read this post :)

    1. I was very privileged to have the opportunity to travel in May.
I think I may just begin working out from today. What better motivation do I need than the start of a new month?

It is a lot of drama at times...A LOT! Some episodes are better than others, but I've stuck it out and come to enjoy it.

Thanks Paula! I hope you'll be back to read more!

  10. Ooooh I hope you do more posts like this, it was an absolute joy to read! It sounds like you've had a really great month and I loved finding out all the little details behind it.
We had a week of sun in the UK that I really appreciated this month, and I've also been really appreciating being alive after all the horrible things that happened recently, like the Manchester bombing.

I've been delightfully surprised by the response to this post's style. I'll be sure to do more.

I did have a lovely month- and I'm glad this post provided more insight into it.

I heard about the 'heat wave' that struck the UK. I have no doubt that it was an absolute delight!

I think the event in Manchester helped many to take a moment (or two) to reflect and be grateful!

Thank you for the comment, as always!
